I signed up for the 6 week challenge because I was not happy with the way I was starting to look. I was going through a lot with my Chronic pain, I needed something to give me that extra push. I was definitely very nervous to sing up, but before signing up for the challenge I got some iv therapy to help with my chronic pain.

Signing up for the challenge was the best thing I have done for myself. It was very challenging and definitely took a lot of discipline to stay on track. The challenge was not easy. I struggled with the pain of working out and watching other people around me eating foods that I loved. My biggest struggle was the pain from working out in the first few weeks. It didn’t start to go away until the last few weeks of the challenge.

The first week I was starting to feel more energy and feeling a lot better. I was struggling with being tired and sick all the time. Since I started the challenge I had been feeling a lot better. I have not been sick or feeling like I was before. I was very depressed with what I looked like and I needed to do something about it. I couldn’t run and I used to love running.

Since I started the challenge, I can run again and it feels amazing. I have gained strength again and I can tell my body has changed. It feels amazing to fit back into my pants again. The training and circuits were very tiring, but in the end, I was able to do them without stopping and I was able to lift more weights.

The challenge has definitely changed my perspective on being healthy and working out. Thank you to Meghan and Christina for pushing and supporting me in completing the 6 week challenge! Thank you to my family who supported me as I needed all the support I could get!

Thanks,

Heather Hornov

What?!  No coffee or tea for SIX weeks?  Are you kidding me?!!  I think that was everyone’s first reaction to the news in our information session – I believe there may have even been a tear shed!

Week 1 went well, the workouts were relatively easy and I started to feel a little more energy.  Although I think Meghan & Christina were just taking it easy on us as we were all suffering from a major sugar/caffeine detox!  In weeks 2&3 they weren’t so sympathetic and introduce the heavier weights, kettle bells, planks. It was hard work but it felt good to get the old body moving again.  By this time the dietary changes were well underway and some of us were starting to notice a difference in our bodies.  At the end of week 3 we were allowed a mid-way weigh in, and I was surprised to learn that I was down not only 10lbs but also 10lbs of fat!  I started out slow and was a little depressed to be honest as I felt the weight wasn’t budging, but Andy told me to stop looking at the scale and to STTFP and it would all be good – and he was right!

Weeks 4&5 were killer for me, my body was very tired trying to get ready for Christmas and all that entails as well as being a wife/mother and working full time plus trying to fit in 5 days at the gym were all draining on me.  I also hurt my knee and was quite disappointed with this as I thought it would affect my overall outcome as I wasn’t able to do some of the movements others were – squats, jumping, burpees (I don’t miss them though lol), but Meghan/Christina/Eric were all great at ensuring I was able to get just as good of a workout as the others, they gave me a Knee Force brace which really helped me out so I pushed and persevered and by week 6, I felt great!  More energy, happier, excited that my body is slimming down and all in the right places!  The last week’s workouts were killer, but that’s what we needed, that final push to success and we all worked hard, and I even think our sweat sweated!

Our final weigh in is tomorrow and I am excited and nervous to see my proof of success on the scale, but in a way I don’t really even need to know the number as for me, I have changed my life, nutritionally, physically and mentally and have achieved a great start to my overall goal of losing 50lbs.

Body Fit has been a tremendous wealth of knowledge, support and inspiration.  I have tried for years to achieve what I have achieved in just six short weeks.  I will continue to use what I have learned, will continue to push my body and will continue to be the best that I can be.  Thanks Body Fit!

I’m unbelievably thrilled with the results from this program. Yesterday I weighed in at 17.8 pounds lighter, 13.6 pounds of fat gone!!

But I will not pretend this has been easy. Over the past several years I have gained and lost 10 pounds at least four times. I consider myself a fairly active person, but with injuries and a busy life, my eating got out of hand and then so did my weight. Getting heavier, I found my body started to hurt more, I didn’t have enough energy for everything I wanted to do, and I felt really unwell.

Finally this past fall I actually popped a button on my favourite pair of pants, and I knew I had to change something drastically. I don’t mind buying new clothes, but not because I got too fat for my old ones!!

So for the past six weeks I have followed the Body Fit diet to the calorie.

It meant skipping the Montreal bagels on a trip to that city, it meant skipping the usual wine and champagne at a huge family celebration at the Royal York Hotel, and it meant NOT DRINKING COFFEE for six weeks!

It meant finding an hour a day, five times a week to visit the gym. It meant rubbery arms and burning abs. It meant really weird facial expressions as I tried to lift on the Smith machine. It meant long, (painful) moments of relief on the foam rollers.

It meant showing up, supporting the other transformers in my group and letting them support me.

It meant building new friendships and feeling more optimistic and confident about… just about everything!

Slowly but surely, it meant my clothes started fitting again. And then they started to get baggy. Slowly but surely, it meant I could lift more weight and last longer on the plank.

And then, it meant looking forward to time at the gym, the guidance of the wonderful trainers, and looking forward to seeing the dramatic changes in the appearance, confidence and strength of my fellow transformers.

And finally, it means that I might just dare sign up for a really long race this fall, and I might just dare to believe that I can finish it strong, happy, and injury-free.

I plan to continue on a modified eating plan for the next little while as I continue to work with the trainers and build strength.

When I think back to the lethargy, frustration, and general malaise I felt six weeks ago, I am grateful that Body Fit offers this program. If anyone asks me if it’s worth it, I answer YES. Go for it – don’t worry about the goal Body Fit sets for you, although it’s always good to challenge yourself. Sign up for this program because you deserve it. It’s way more than just looking good and fitting into your favourite pants – it’s about being the strongest, happiest and confident person you can be.
