Before I started the challenge, I was using food as my comfort. It was my thing that I did when I was bored, sad, and happy. It didn’t matter what emotion I was feeling, I just ate. I’ve been big ever since I can remember and I had tried many times to lose the weight so when I first heard about the 7 week transformation challenge, I knew it would be a good thing me.

The challenge allowed to think of food in a different way, not as something I wanted but as something I needed. Near the end of the program, there were times I knew I was supposed to be eating more but I knew my body was full. That was something I had never really noticed before. I used to just eat and not take in to consideration of whether I was hungry or not. The program changed my perspective on food which I hope to take into future endeavors.

The workouts kicked my butt, but I began to find that if I didn’t work out during the day, I would be grumpy and tired (which makes me wonder if I was always grumpy before I started the challenge). I want to thank Christina for never letting me quit during the workouts, especially with those damn pull-ins! Each time we worked out, I found myself getting stronger and more fit, on my way to a happier and healthier me. I also want to thank my group members for the support during the challenge and complaining with me when things got difficult.

The 7-week challenge has really opened my eyes to a new way of life and taught me things that will aid me going forward. I have been really fortunate to be a part of this program and it allowed me to meet some incredible people and experience personal training for the first time. There were definitely a lot of challenges to overcome throughout the program and the meal plan was among one of the hardest challenges.  The training portion of the program definitely kicked my butt and allowed me to learn how to really work until you drop. The trainers were both incredible and I really liked working with two trainers instead of one, it really allowed us to see how personal training varies with each trainer. The food portion was definitely a struggle; I hate bland food so it was hard to cook with no sauces, oils or salt. Going forward I am definitely going to try to continue eating clean but I will be adding some of the flavours back in. Whether I have “successfully” completed the challenge or not, I have still been able to commit myself to something for my betterment over the past few weeks and I am proud of the accomplishment that I did have. This is definitely not where my weight loss journey ends and I will be moving forward to shed some more pounds and put on some more muscle. “The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step”; the 7- week challenge has been that first step for me and I cant wait to keep going.

I hate to admit it, but hey everyone could see it… I was bordering on being over weight.

I would like to think that I have always been an active and healthy person. After my Fiancé and I bought our first home in Uxbridge 2 years ago we didn’t have too much money left over for gym memberships. Since I was already active I decided that I could keep being active on my own… was I ever wrong. Walking the dog and the housework that I did around the house just wasn’t good enough to stay in shape. I fell into a terrible habit of staying at home instead of going out to do something active.

I reached my heaviest weight ever! I only noticed when I was trying on wedding dresses and right then decided I needed to do something about my weight. I saw two of my friends on Facebook who had joined the Transformation Challenge in January and I was so motivated by all their posts and constant trips to the gym. So I saved up some money and joined the gym! The only problem was I was an excuse maker and nervous to go to the gym with all these people who knew what they were doing with the machines

I signed up for the challenge knowing that it would give me the extra push I needed as I HAD to go to the gym 5 – 6 times a week to stay in the challenge. The first week was very hard for me. Giving up coffee meant a week straight of never ending pounding headaches and the workouts were tough as I was so out of shape. After the second week I started to get used to the meal plan and I was already starting to feel stronger and less bloated. Throughout the rest of the 6 weeks I started to feel a lot better. I had more energy, I was happier, I was waking up earlier in the morning and not feeling tired (and I wasn’t drinking coffee)!

I am now enjoying my workouts out 5 – 6 times a week. I feel stronger and can even see the difference in my body. Now I don’t feel scared to go to the gym, as I know what to do and feel confident working out. I think this program really helped me to get back into shape and back into a healthier lifestyle. I had so much fun working out with my small group twice a week and having their support as well as the support of my family and friends. I am so happy that I pushed through and “stuck with the freaking plan”.
