7 Week Transformer – Rachel

Rachel

I hate to admit it, but hey everyone could see it… I was bordering on being over weight.

I would like to think that I have always been an active and healthy person. After my Fiancé and I bought our first home in Uxbridge 2 years ago we didn’t have too much money left over for gym memberships. Since I was already active I decided that I could keep being active on my own… was I ever wrong. Walking the dog and the housework that I did around the house just wasn’t good enough to stay in shape. I fell into a terrible habit of staying at home instead of going out to do something active.

I reached my heaviest weight ever! I only noticed when I was trying on wedding dresses and right then decided I needed to do something about my weight. I saw two of my friends on Facebook who had joined the Transformation Challenge in January and I was so motivated by all their posts and constant trips to the gym. So I saved up some money and joined the gym! The only problem was I was an excuse maker and nervous to go to the gym with all these people who knew what they were doing with the machines

I signed up for the challenge knowing that it would give me the extra push I needed as I HAD to go to the gym 5 – 6 times a week to stay in the challenge. The first week was very hard for me. Giving up coffee meant a week straight of never ending pounding headaches and the workouts were tough as I was so out of shape. After the second week I started to get used to the meal plan and I was already starting to feel stronger and less bloated. Throughout the rest of the 6 weeks I started to feel a lot better. I had more energy, I was happier, I was waking up earlier in the morning and not feeling tired (and I wasn’t drinking coffee)!

I am now enjoying my workouts out 5 – 6 times a week. I feel stronger and can even see the difference in my body. Now I don’t feel scared to go to the gym, as I know what to do and feel confident working out. I think this program really helped me to get back into shape and back into a healthier lifestyle. I had so much fun working out with my small group twice a week and having their support as well as the support of my family and friends. I am so happy that I pushed through and “stuck with the freaking plan”.
